Jakarta - PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) celebrates its 13th birthday.
The company continues to innovate and develop through digitization events. The PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy 2019 Digital Expo was held at the XXI Ballroom Djakarta Theater on Thursday (12/12).
PGE President Director Ali Mundakir explained, digitalization at PGE was very important and the company continued to carry out digital innovations. Through Digitalization, all work will become easier and faster.
"We have made changes to the digital all four years. The digital process is also carried out internally by PGE and innovations from workers make our performance more efficient, "Ali said.
Ali explained that there was already a digital innovation implemented by PGE, SAMS, the Seamless Asset Management System application to make performance and monitoring directly reported through a paperless application.
"PGE will continue to encourage innovation from workers, so that through digital transformation it is expected to be able to make work more effective and efficient." Close Ali.
SAMS is a system designed to convert all manual administrative activities in the implementation of Asset Integrity Management Practices into digital activities. This system is not a stand-alone program, but it still bases on MySAP Module PM as a database.
The SAMS application is the first mobile application integrated with MySAP in Pertamina. This application is the result of cooperation from the Operation & Engineering Function, Operations Area, as well as PT PGE's Geomatic & ICT as well as from PT Pertamina (Persero) 's CICT Team.
Through the application of the SAMS application, the entire set of reporting on the maintenance of company assets can be digitalized and directly done using a smartphone at the maintenance site.
Thus the process of maintaining company assets can run faster and more concise. On the occasion of PT PGE's 13th anniversary this time, the Clean Development Mechanism or CDM project also presented its best gift, where PT PGE as a company that has a high concern for environmental preservation, especially in efforts to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, has succeeded in realizing the follow-up of the Emission Reduction Purchase Agreement (ERPA) which had been initiated since 2010.
Currently PT PGE has 7 CDM projects that have been registered at the United Nations Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), some of which have been labeled gold standard, namely the Project Ulubelu CDM Units 3 & 4, Kamojang Unit 4, Kamojang Unit 5, Karaha Unit 1, Lahendong Units 5 & 6, Lumut Balai Units 1 & 2, and Lumut Balai 3 & 4.
The seven CDM projects have the potential to support the Government's commitment, according to President Joko Widodo's commitment at COP 21 Paris related to emission reduction, with a reduction in emissions of 2.5 million tons of CO2 per year.
PT PGE currently manages 14 Work Areas and has an installed capacity of 672 MW Own Operation and 1205 MW Joint Operation Contrac (JOC). The total installed capacity in all PGE Work Areas contributes 94% of the total installed geothermal capacity in Indonesia to 2047 MW.
The total emission reduction potential of the total installed geothermal capacity in Indonesia of 2047 MW is more than 10 million tons of CO2 per year, of which approximately 94% comes from the working area of PT PGE.
In addition, with the installed capacity of geothermal energy in Indonesia currently at 2047 MW, there is the potential to save the country's foreign exchange by USD 2 billion per year.As the forefront of geothermal development in Indonesia, PT PGE targets total installed capacity in its own operations to reach 1112 MW in 2026 with a total investment commitment of USD 2.68 billion.
