Ulubelu, 23 November 2019 - In the series of celebrations of the 13th anniversary of PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy held a senior visit to Ulubelu as an offering to seniors who have worked hard to build geothermal especially in Ulubelu.
This activity was attended by seniors consisting of the first generation from 1974 to 1990. Ali Mundakir as Managing Director took part in releasing the activity and thanked the seniors who had struggled to develop from the beginning to become PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy.
"Thank you to the seniors for their hard work and hopefully this activity will run smoothly so that it will be a memorable friendship." Said Ali.
Senior who had served as Head of the Geothermal Division Hermanses thanked the PGE Board of Directors for facilitating senior visits to Ulubelu and also the Ulubelu PGE Area for their warm welcome to visit one of the geothermal fields.
"Thanks to PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy for welcoming and facilitating geothermal seniors, we are proud of PGE's achievements so that Indonesia currently occupies the second position in producing geothermal energy, we hope this spirit can be continued and enhanced." Said Hermanses.
The Senior Visit was attended by the Director of Operations of PGE along with the management of central and Ulubelu areas as well as geothermal seniors who had served as Head of Service, Head of Divisions, Chief Director, Project Leaders, General Managers, and other retired workers / officials .This senior visit is also a place to share knowledge and experience across generations related to geothermal development and exploitation in Indonesia, especially Pertamina.
The current Ulubelu PLTP (with an installed capacity of 4 x 55 MW) contributes 25% of electricity demand in Lampung.
Indonesia is currently ranked second in the world as a geothermal electricity producer after the United States, which was originally occupied by the Philippines.
The huge geothermal potential is spread over 342 potential points throughout Indonesia. PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy continues to strive to optimize the use of geothermal energy as one of the renewable energy sources.
PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy currently manages 14 Work Areas and has an installed capacity of 672 MW On Operation and 1205 MW Joint Operation Contrac (JOC) in which the total capacity is installed in all Work Areas. PGE contributes 92% of the total installed geothermal capacity in Indonesia to 2047 MW.
