PGE Appoints Ahmad Yani as President Director, Ready to Accelerate Geothermal Development Towards Energy Transition

Jakarta, January 20, 2026 – PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE) (IDX: PGEO) is strengthening its leadership to accelerate the development of national geothermal energy. The company appointed Ahmad Yani as President Director, replacing Julfi Hadi, and Andi Joko Nugroho as Director of Operations. The appointments were announced at the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) held at Grha Pertamina, Jakarta, on Monday (January 20, 2025).

President Commissioner of PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk, Gigih Udi Atmo, stated that the appointment of Mr. Ahmad Yani as President Director is a strategic step for the Company to ensure that its business direction remains aligned with its established targets.

"We are optimistic that this strategic decision will open up broader opportunities for the Company's business and operational development going forward. With his extensive experience in the geothermal industry, particularly within the Pertamina Group, Mr. Ahmad Yani's leadership is believed to be able to strengthen PGE's strategic direction as a world-leading geothermal producer," said Gigih.

Previously, Ahmad Yani served as Director of Operations at PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk since 2023. He is known for his extensive track record and in-depth experience in the geothermal industry. During his tenure, Ahmad Yani contributed significantly to maintaining operational reliability, increasing generation efficiency, and ensuring sustainable operational management across all Geothermal Working Areas (WKP) managed by the Company. In 2025, Ahmad Yani successfully led PGE to achieve an all-time high production.

Beyond strengthening operational performance, Ahmad Yani also encouraged the acceleration of technology development and innovation as part of efforts to increase the efficiency of the geothermal industry. This initiative was realized through various innovations, including the green hydrogen pilot project in Ulubelu, as well as the development of Flow2Max® and G-Bionic.

Based on this experience, Ahmad Yani expressed his commitment to continuing the Company's leadership while maintaining the continuity of the strategic vision that has been established, ensuring that PGE continues to move forward in line with its long-term growth path.

"As I continue my leadership, I am committed to strengthening the role of geothermal energy as the backbone of the national energy transition. Amidst the growing momentum of energy sector transformation, now is the right time to accelerate geothermal development. PGE is targeting an installed capacity of 1 gigawatt (GW) within the next 2-3 years, increasing to 1.8 GW by 2033. This initiative is supported by the potential of up to 3 GW from 10 independently managed working areas (WKP) to support energy security and the Net Zero Emissions agenda by 2060," said Ahmad Yani.

On the same occasion, shareholders honorably confirmed the dismissal of Julfi Hadi from his position as PGE President Director. This decision follows up on the resignation letter received by the Company on November 25, 2025.

On this occasion, Gigih Udi Atmo also expressed his appreciation for Julfi Hadi's contributions during his tenure since 2023.

"We express our gratitude for all the energy and thought that Mr. Julfi Hadi has contributed during his tenure as President Director of the Company. During his tenure, Mr. Julfi Hadi has made significant contributions to strengthening the Company's business foundation," he said.
