PGE Holds a Joint Prayer Facing the Covid-19 Pandemic

The current Covid-19 pandemic is still happening all over the world, including in Indonesia. The impacts and consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic are also being faced by all clean energy fighters at PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE).

In carrying out the mandate to develop and operate clean electricity from geothermal energy for national energy security in Indonesia, PGE energy fighters are very at risk of being exposed to Covid-19. Some workers have died, some are currently battling Covid-19 and some are undergoing self-isolation.

In the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, PGE Commissioners, Directors, Officers held virtual prayers together, led by their respective religious leaders. Muslims are led by Ustadz Yasir A. Liputo, Lc., Christians are led by Rev. Fenovri Satata, Buddhists are led by Upsaka Agustino, and Hindus are led by Jro Mangku Wayan Gede Bawa.

At the opening of the joint prayer event, PGE President Director, Ahmad Yuniarto (AY), invited PGE Officers and their families to together bow their hearts and ask God Almighty to be given strength and patience in facing the test of the Covid-19 pandemic that is hitting right now.

"Let's pray to God Almighty to be given fortitude and not stop trying, asking for forgiveness, and being grateful for the blessings we have received, and reminding each other of our relatives to always obey health protocols," added AY.

On the same occasion, Sarman Simanjorang as PGE President Commissioner invited PGE officers and their families to spend time praying for safety and health, and limiting mobility in accordance with Government directives.

"Thank you to PGE officers and their families who have taken the time to be present virtually with their families, and may we all be given health and safety, and to our brothers and sisters who are in self-isolation or are currently being treated, health can be given," said Sarman.

During this Covid-19 pandemic, PGE has tightened screening for all workers who will carry out work, where before traveling to PGE, workers must report via email to the PGE medical team the results of a negative antigen swab and fill out a Covid-19 alert form, and before When starting work, the workers will also be subjected to health checks in the form of temperature, blood pressure and an antigen swab to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Intense coordination was also carried out by PGE to the Covid-19 Task Force and other related parties. Health services and medicines are also prepared as much as possible by PGE, including vaccinations for all PGE workers and families.

PGE supports all Government policies to prevent and mitigate the spread of Covid-19 in all of its operational activities in order to carry out the government's mandate to provide clean electricity from geothermal energy for Indonesia, from Sumatra, Java, Bali to North Sulawesi.

PGE currently manages 15 Geothermal Working Areas, of which the installed geothermal capacity within the PGE working area is 1877 MW, consisting of 672 MW operated by PGE alone and 1205 MW managed through Joint Operation Contracts.

Geothermal installed capacity in PGE's working areas contributes about 88% of the total installed geothermal capacity in Indonesia.
