PGE Lahendong Area Manado Flood Disaster Response

Manado, 02 February 2019 - Floods and landslides caused by extreme weather that hit North Sulawesi on Friday (1/1/2019) since the morning, Pertamina Geothermal Energy Lahendong Area was led by General Manager Salvius Patangke to immediately carry out disaster relief activities to affected communities.

Coordinating with North Sulawesi Provincial Government and Manado PGE City Government Lahendong area distributes aid in the form of ready-to-eat food and staple food as many as 200 packages. The assistance was handed over directly by the PGE Area LHD Operation Manager Ahmad Yani. The location of the assistance is in Tuminting District, precisely the Public Kitchen of Al Munawarah Mosque. "This assistance is expected to ease the burden of the community in facing this flood, besides being a corporate commitment in corporate social responsibility but more on the humanitarian side as a fellow North Sulawesi citizen," said Salvius Patangke.

The city of Manado, on Friday (1/2) was affected by flooding due to the downstream of 5 rivers that crossed the city (Bailang, S. Tondano, S. Tikala, S. Sario, Minahasa, S. Malalayang). Disaster management efforts have been carried out from the ranks of the Provincial Government, City Government and all stakeholders, all working together for the city of Manado as the capital of North Sulawesi Province.
