PGE Ulubelu distributes 3000 RATU Avocado seeds to the community

PT Pertamina Geothermal (PGE) Ulubelu Area together with the Tanggamus Regency Government made real efforts to preserve the environment by planting and distributing 3,000 avocado seeds to the Ulubelu community.

The activity was carried out symbolically at the Ulubelu District Office Courtyard, Tanggamus Regency.

This tree planting activity is one of the CSR programs of the Ulubelu PGE Area in the field of environment and community empowerment. This program synergy was implemented between PGE and the Tanggamus District Government in order to support the Tanggamus District Government Program in realizing a green and productive Tanggamus with the Tanggamus Unggul Avocado House (RATU).

This activity was attended directly by the General Manager of PGE Ulubelu Area, Mawardi Agani, Head of the Planning, Research and Development Agency (Bappelitbang) Tanggamus Hendra Wijaya, as well as representatives of the Department of Environment and Forestry, Department of Food Security, Food Crops and Horticulture (DKPTPH) Tanggamus, Tanggamus Agriculture Service, and Ulubelu District.

Hendra Wijaya as the Head of the Bappelitbang Agency hopes that this tree planting can create the iconic Tanggamus with productive plants.

"Now it may not feel the benefits, but in the next 3-4 years it will be felt that this avocado has a value that is quite competitive in the market," said Hendra.

Through this activity, PGE hopes to be able to improve environmental sustainability, maintain the availability of ground water, and increase community productivity through this avocado plant.

"The environment is maintained, the community is also empowered," added Mawardi.

The Head of Ulubelu Sub-district, Suwarno, expressed his gratitude for PGE's support for the Ulubelu community in various fields, from education, animal husbandry, plantations and fisheries.

"Hopefully PGE and the government and the community can build a better Ulubelu together," said Suwarno.

PGE Ulubelu Area currently generates electricity from geothermal energy of 220 MW and contributes 24% of the electricity supply for the province of Lampung, which illuminates about 240 thousand houses in the Lampung area.
