To Accelerate Geothermal Development, Pertamina Geothermal Energy Appoints Udi Atmo as President Commissioner

PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE) (IDX: PGEO) announced the appointment of Gigih Udi Atmo as President Commissioner, replacing Sarman Simanjorang. This appointment was announced at the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) held at Grha Pertamina, Jakarta, on Wednesday (August 20th).

PGE management believes Gigih's appointment will be a positive stimulus for the Company in supporting the government's agenda to accelerate the energy transition, particularly through optimizing national geothermal development. PGE is currently targeting an increase in installed capacity from 727 megawatts (MW) to 1 gigawatt (GW) within the next two years, reaching 1.7 GW by 2034.

PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk President Director Julfi Hadi welcomed the appointment of PGE's President Commissioner. "The appointment of Mr. Gigih as President Commissioner will further strengthen the Company's business direction and ensure PGE remains on the right track, particularly in improving business performance and strengthening its green energy portfolio," he said.

Furthermore, during his career, Gigih has held the positions of Director of Energy Conservation (2022-2024) and Associate Expert Electricity Inspector (2020-2022).

At this EGMS, PGE also appointed Mohammad Firmansyah as an Independent Commissioner and reassigned Abdulla Zayed from his previous position as Independent Commissioner to Commissioner.

With this change, the membership composition of the Board of Directors and Board of Commissioners of PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk is as follows:

With over 40 years of experience, PGE currently manages an installed capacity of 1,932 MW, consisting of 727 MW independently managed and 1,205 MW jointly managed. Furthermore, the company has identified potential reserves of 3 GW from 10 independently managed Geothermal Working Areas (WKP).

As a manifestation of its commitment, in early August 2025, PGE, an affiliate of PT Pertamina (Persero), and PT PLN Indonesia Power (PLN IP), an affiliate of PT PLN (Persero), signed a Head of Agreement (HoA) facilitated by the Anagata Nusantara Power Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara/Danantara Indonesia).
