Tomohon Government Supports PGE Booster Vaccination in Lahendong Area

Responding to developments in the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2022, PGE Lahendong Area moved quickly to support the government's booster vaccination program. PGE Lahendong Area carried out booster vaccinations to hundreds of workers, partners and related parties in PGE's working areas in Tomohon and Minahasa. The booster vaccination took place at the PGE Lahendong Area Office in Tomohon in collaboration with the Tomohon City Health Office. (27/01)

Ahmad Yani, General Manager of PGE Lahendong Area, conveyed the support and synergy with the Tomohon City Government in accelerating this booster vaccination to support the acceleration program for handling the pandemic in Indonesia, especially in North Sulawesi. “We encourage all workers, business partners, related parties and all family members in our operational areas to be proactive in taking advantage of this booster vaccination opportunity. This is to increase self-immunity and help protect other community members from the effects of the pandemic," he said.

At the PGE Lahendong Area booster vaccination activity, officials from the Tomohon City Health Office were also present. Head of the Communicable Disease Prevention and Control Division, dr. Maria Sugiarto, Head of Public Health Rully Tumanduk, SKM, MKes and Head of Health Services Youla Pitoy. The Tomohon Health Department officials are none other than to support and directly monitor this booster vaccination program. Head of Communicable Disease Prevention and Control, dr. Maria Sugiarto emphasized the importance of the active participation of all elements of society in overcoming the impact of this pandemic, one of which is increasing the participation of booster vaccinations for those who have met medical requirements.

The Tomohon City Government expresses its appreciation to PGE Lahendong Area for being proactive with the government and all its elements in synergizing the handling of this pandemic with the implementation of booster vaccination activities on this occasion.

The ranks of all workers, partners and related parties in the PGE Lahendong Area are very grateful to the Tomohon City Government for supporting and assisting PGE in implementing this booster vaccination program in early 2022. This booster vaccination activity is targeted to reach more than 300 people who related to PGE's operations either directly or indirectly. General Manager of PGE Area Lahendong Ahmad Yani added "PGE's operations in supplying electricity to the people of North Sulawesi and Gorontalo cannot stop, so we need workers who are always on standby in prime condition in their operations," he added.

Currently, PGE Lahendong Area with a generating capacity of 120 MW has supported approximately 28% of the electricity needs of the people in North Sulawesi and Gorontalo from environmentally friendly energy sources, namely geothermal energy. Indonesia itself is currently ranked second in geothermal development in the world with a total installed capacity of 2,276 MW, and the contribution from the PGE Working Area is 88 percent of the total installed geothermal capacity in Indonesia, which consists of 672 MW self-operated and 1,205 MW. carried out through Joint Operation Contracts.
