Jakarta - PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE), an affiliate of PT Pertamina (Persero), received a visit from the leaders and members of Commission I DPRD Bengkulu Province at PGE Headquarters on Wednesday (26/8).
The working visit of the people's representatives was related to the development of Geothermal utilization in the Bengkulu area, especially in the Lebong area.Attended by the Chairman of Commission I DPRD Bengkulu Sri Rejeki and the ranks of the members of Commission I DPRD Bengkulu.
Apart from that from PGE, there were also Operations Director Eko Agung Bramantyo, Director of Exploration and Development Tafif Azimudin, and Vice President Project Development Wawan Dharmawan.
The entire series of activities of the Bengkulu DPRD Commission I visit to PGE's head office have followed the Covid-19 prevention protocol and all meeting participants have had a health check before the meeting was held.
In his remarks, Sri Rejeki stated that the group from the Salatiga City DPRD led by the Head of Commission I Bengkulu DPRD intends to stay in touch with PGE and ask about the development of geothermal utilization in the Lebong area.
"Regarding the utilization of geothermal energy, we hope that the benefits will not only be felt by the people of Lebong but also by people throughout Bengkulu," he said.
"We consider the impact of the utilization of geothermal energy very positively, so we must guard it and protect it. If there are obstacles in the work, do not hesitate to tell us, God willing, we will help find a common ground." He added.
The meeting closed with a presentation on the development of geothermal utilization projects in the Hululais area, Lebong Regency, which was carried out by the Director of Exploration and Development Tafif Azimudin.
"Thank you for the visit made by Commission I DPRD Bengkulu to the PGE Headquarters in Jakarta, this shows its concern for the Bengkulu people," said Tafif.
"PGE always pays attention to the communities around the area and projects through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Even though it is not fully operational in Hululais, CSR activities are already running, even during the Covid-19 pandemic, PGE has carried out a series of prevention of the spread of Covid-19 in environment around the Hululais project, "he explained.
"We hope that the Hululais project can provide positive benefits and also encourage development in the Bengkulu area," he added.
The Hululais Project is one of the geothermal development projects carried out by PGE which is located in the Hululais Geothermal Working Area (WKP), Bengkulu Province. The status of the Hululais project is currently in the production test phase.
