PNRE Received Four Awards at the 2022 E2S Awards

Pertamina New & Renewable Energy (Pertamina NRE) received the four highest awards in the 2022 Energy and Mining Editor Society (E2S) Awards in the New & Renewable Energy field. Three awards were received by PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy, a subsidiary of Pertamina NRE and one by the holding company.

The awarding event was held by E2S at Bimasena Club The Dharmawangsa, Jakarta, Tuesday, December 13, 2022.

The three awards for PGE were the Best CEO New & Renewable Energy Company received by PGE President Director, Ahmad Yuniarto, Best Corporate Secretary received by PGE Corporate Secretary Muhammad Baron, and Best Social Innovation Program category for the PGE Rangers App Program in the Kamojang Area.

Meanwhile, Rika Gresia Wahyudi, Manager of Corporate Communication & Stakeholder Management of Pertamina NRE, received Best Public Relations Manager award. For Baron and Rika, these were their second consecutive awards for the same category.

Lili Hermawan, Chair of the 2022 E2S Awards Jury, said the assessment indicators consisted of media monitoring from January to December 2022. In addition, validation of the winners involved relevant experts. The Jury also conducted a confirmation process from stakeholders or business partners as well as observations during media visits.

“We did not require presentations from candidate award winners because the assessment lasted continuously for the whole year. Thus the assessment would be more fair, "he said.

Ahmad Yuniarto, PGE President Director, expressed his gratitude for the award given by E2S specifically to PGE. This is the driving force and encouragement for all PGE personnel to do their best to improve the company's performance in supporting national energy security. "In running a business, we not only prioritize profit, but also play a role in social and environmental responsibility," he said.

According to Ahmad, PGE is currently undergoing a transformation. The company does not only use geothermal energy for electricity needs, but also produces green hydrogen and green ammonia to produce cleaner energy. Moreover, Indonesia is a country with the installed capacity of one of the largest geothermal power plants in the world.

"Geothermal energy is environmentally friendly and is an important component in a new, sustainable energy system. As part of Pertamina NRE, we hope that in the future PGE will become a catalyst for decarbonization," he said.

Pertamina NRE manages new and renewable energy power plants with a total capacity until September 2022 of around 1.6 GW consisting of geothermal, solar and biogas. Pertamina NRE is also developing nature-based solutions, carbon and hydrogen businesses, and participating in the electric vehicle ecosystem through the Indonesia Battery Corporation (IBC).

In addition to the 1.6 GW, for Geothermal, PGE also manages 1.2 GW under the Joint Operation Contract scheme.
