LUMUT BALAI - PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) Lumut Balai Area through the Islamic Da'wah Agency (BDI) has synergized kindness by providing compensation to poor people in Pen Scan Village and Babatan Village, Semende Darat Laut District, Muara Enim Regency, Thursday (01/10).
The activity was carried out at the Pen Scan Village office by inviting 20 poor people from Penindai village and 20 dhuafa representatives from Babatan to the house of the Babatan Village chief.
Azhari Surya, as a representative from BDI Lumut Balai Area said that the Central PGE Islamic Da'wah Agency through the PGE Lumut Balai Islamic Da'wah Agency provided zakat funds collected by the Central PGE BDI which would be distributed to mustahiq in accordance with sharia.
"This fund is not much, but hopefully it can provide assistance to Muslim people who receive it and can be useful and hopefully the zakat givers can be rewarded with Allah SWT," said Azhari.
The Head of Penindai Village, Indarwan expressed his gratitude to PGE for providing assistance in the PGE Lumut Balai Area.
"Thank you to PGE Lumut Balai Area, God willing, the assistance from PGE in the form of zakat, donations, alms for mustahiq in the Lumut Balai Area is a blessing and beneficial for the local community," he said at the head office of Pen Scan Village.
Previously, BDI Lumut Balai had also provided basic food assistance to poor people who were affected by Covid-19.
PGE Area Lumut Balai Unit 1 is located in WKP Lumut Balai and Margabayur, South Sumatra Province which has been operating commercially in 2020. The current total installed capacity is 55 MW.
