Banda Aceh, December 11, 2025 – PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE) (IDX: PGEO), together with the Indonesian Geothermal Association (INAGA/API) and the Indonesia Geothermal Golf Community (IGGC), once again demonstrated their concern and solidarity with communities affected by a series of natural disasters in Sumatra, particularly in Aceh Province. Since late November, the region has been hit by extreme weather, flash floods, and landslides, causing damage to several residential areas and public facilities. As a swift response to these conditions, PGE, API, and IGGC distributed emergency response assistance to support early recovery in the affected areas. The assistance was handed over directly to the Aceh Provincial Government on Wednesday (12/10/2025) at Koopsud I Lanud Sultan Iskandar Muda, the integrated post for Aceh's Natural Disaster Management.
The symbolic handover of the aid was carried out by the Director of Exploration and Development of PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk, Edwil Suzandi, and received directly by the Deputy Governor of Aceh, H. Fadhlullah, S.E. representing the Aceh Provincial Government, he actively coordinated disaster management in Aceh and was directly involved in the distribution of emergency logistical aid to several affected districts.
The aid distributed by PGE, API, and IGGC covered a variety of basic necessities, including food supplies such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, instant noodles, canned sardines, salt, tea bags, and mineral water. In addition, PGE also provided non-food items such as liquid soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, sanitary napkins, baby diapers, medicine packages, blankets, tarpaulins, trash bags, emergency family kits, and mattresses. All of this assistance was prepared to address the urgent needs of survivors and support their survival during the emergency.
Edwil Suzandi, Director of Exploration and Development at PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk, stated that this assistance represents a form of corporate social responsibility in assisting communities in Indonesia facing the crisis.
"On behalf of PGE, I would first like to express my deepest condolences for the disaster that has befallen our brothers and sisters in various regions of Indonesia. In situations like this, the presence of support is crucial. PGE always strives to grow and develop alongside the community, including through critical times. We hope that Aceh's recovery can be completed quickly and that the community can resume its activities and recover as usual," said Edwil.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor of Aceh, H. Fadhlullah, S.E., stated, "We, the Aceh government, also express our gratitude to Pertamina Geothermal Energy, the Indonesian Geothermal Association, and the Indonesia Geothermal Golf Community for their assistance. We will immediately distribute this assistance to the affected areas."
This effort will not stop at the initial aid distribution but will continue through intensive coordination with various relevant agencies, so that the community's needs can be met in a targeted and sustainable manner. In the post-disaster recovery process, resilience cannot be built by one party alone. The community, government, and business sector need to work together and strengthen each other so that recovery can be faster and more comprehensive.
