PGE Commissioner & Tasikmalaya Regent Restore Tasik Malaya Economy through BuMaLa Program

Tasikmalaya - President Commissioner of Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) Sarman Simanjorang accompanied by Acting. Tasikmalaya Regent Hening Widiatmoko provided Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) assistance to the Montekar group of Kadipaten Village, Tasikmalaya Regency, represented by Agus Dani in Karaha. (6/11)

Assistance to develop Maggot and Azolla (BuMala) Cultivation was provided in the form of seeds and expansion of livestock sheds. This BuMaLa is an advanced stage of the Green Environment and Waste Management Program (Jalipesah) that has been implemented previously.

Since its launch at the end of July 2020, the BuMaLa program has shown quite encouraging results and has been found in many yards, and has even become alternative feed for local residents' livestock.

Sarman Simanjorang in his statement said that the assistance was a form of company attention to residents affected by Covid-19, especially those in ring 1 of the company's operating area.

"We will continue to expand and develop this company's concern if it shows maximum results and there is seriousness from all parties," said Sarman.

Sarman emphasized the need for synergy of all parties in implementing CSR. This is because there are 4 components in implementing CSR, namely the government, the private sector, academics and the community itself.

Appreciation was conveyed by the Acting. Tasikmalaya Regent Hening Widiatmoko for the efforts made by PGE Karaha Area in alleviating poverty problems. According to him, what PGE has done is not only providing opportunities for new businesses with small capital, but at the same time addressing the problem of household waste.

“We are very proud of the efforts PGE has put in. Hopefully in the future this kind of activity can also be replicated in other places in Tasikmalaya, so that it can reduce the high poverty rate in Tasik Regency, "said Hening.

The provision of assistance was carried out by PGE President Commissioner Sarman Simanjorang during an official visit to the PGE Karaha Area. He was accompanied by members of the Board of Commissioners and Director of Operations of PGE, Eko Agung Bramantyo, and made visits to the drilling location of Telaga 3.3 well and PLTP Karaha Unit 1.

PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) is a company engaged in the utilization of geothermal energy and is a subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero). PGE's Karaha Unit I Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) with a capacity of 30MW has been operating commercially on April 6, 2018. The electricity production of PLTP Karaha Unit I has illuminated 33 thousand houses in Tasikmalaya and its surroundings.

This achievement is a realization of the 35,000MW program launched by the government, which will increase the reliability of the Java-Bali transmission system with an additional 227 Gigawatt hour (GWh) of electricity supply per year.

In its construction, PLTP Karaha Unit I is the most complete project because PGE is working on its own starting from the sub-surface, exploration, piping, power plant to the 25 KM long power transmission tower.
