PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGE) (IDX: PGEO) Kamojang Area directly helped extinguish the fire on Mount Papandayan. The fire has occurred since Sunday evening, October 22, 2023. PGE deployed 1 fire truck unit, 1 fire jeep unit, and 10 teams of trained firefighters to the fire location.
The PGE team joined a joint team coordinated by the West Java Province Natural Resources Conservation Center (KSDA). PGE also donated a total of 740 logistics packages to support joint teams and volunteers involved in extinguishing activities.

On Tuesday, October 24, a total of 152 people extinguished the fire, divided into three main fire locations, namely the Masigit Block, Tegal Alun Block, and Dutch Goa Block, also supported by a logistics team.
Today, Wednesday, October 25, 2023, around 50 joint teams were redeployed to carry out activities at the blackout location. Today's target is to mop up along the fire location. This activity aims to map the extent of the fire using drones and extinguish the remaining embers.
Thomas Nifinluri, Director of Forest and Land Fire Control, Ministry of Environment & Forestry (KLHK), who was also present on the occasion, expressed his appreciation for the concern and assistance from PGE. Until now, the joint team is still carrying out activities on Mount Papandayan, Garut.
