PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) received three Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Dharma Karya awards at the Chairul Saleh Building in commemoration of the 77th Mining and Energy Day on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.
The ESDM Dharma Karya award is a sign of appreciation from the government for PGE's commitment to innovation in geothermal development in the country and its significant impact on the energy sector.
This award also shows that PGE is committed to actively implementing environmental, social and good governance (ESG) principles in running its business.
"I would like to congratulate the ESDM Dharma Karya Award 2022 recipients, who have contributed to progress impact in national development, especially in the energy and mineral resources sector. I hope that every ESDM personnel always works and improves performance through innovation in a quick, careful, and productive manner so that the ESDM sector can continue to contribute maximally to economic growth," said Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif.
There are three types of ESDM Dharma Karya Award: The highest award is Utama Award for those who have contributed greatly to the energy and mineral resources sector and nationwide; Second, Madya Award for those who have contributed greatly to the energy and mineral resources sector and cross-sectoral; Third, Muda level for those who have contributed in the energy and mineral resources sector.
This year, PGE received three ESDM Dharma Karya Muda awards. First award was for the ASLI PC-Prove Team for its innovation in increasing the effectiveness of the Flow Chemical Dozing Pump reading with the DIGIPOT (Digitalization Caliberation Pot) technology at the PGE Ulubelu Area. Second award was for the FT Prove Turbine Team for its innovation to improve the accuracy of troubleshooting on the Turbine Speed Sensor with the "SIPUT" (Turbine Rotation Simulator) technology at the PGE Kamojang Geothermal Power Plant. Third award was for the FT Prove UPTO Team for its innovation in improving the quality of the Closed Cooling Water cooling system with the Arduino Mega-based Control and Monitoring Tool technology at PGE Karaha Area.
PGE President Director Ahmad Yuniarto extended his gratitude to the government for the support and appreciation for the company. "This award is a pride for us, encouraging PGE officers to give the best for the company and to continue creating innovation in the energy and mineral resources sector," he said.
In running the business, PGE continues to be committed to developing geothermal energy and ensuring the implementation of Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) as an integrated part of PGE's geothermal business. The implementation of these ESG aspects is an effort to provide added value and support the government programs related to the use of new, renewable energy that is environmentally friendly, especially the geothermal energy.
PGE's commitment to developing geothermal energy can contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of Goal 7 (Clean and Affordable Energy), Goal 12 (Responsible Construction and Production), Goal 13 (Climate Change Management), and Goal 15 (Land Ecosystem)
PGE currently manages 13 Geothermal Working Areas (WKP) with an installed capacity of 1.8 GW, of which 672 MW are operated and managed directly by PGE and 1,205 MW are managed under a Joint Operation Contract scenario.
