PGE Receives 9 Highest Awards in the Energy and Mineral Resources Sector for Contribution to Geothermal Development in RI

PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) won 3 Dharma Karya Energi and Mineral Resources (ESDM) awards and 6 Subroto Awards in commemoration of the 76th Mining and Energy Day which falls on 28 September 2021.

The highest award in the ESDM sector is given as a form of government appreciation for PGE's commitment to geothermal development in the country as well as having a very significant impact on the energy sector.

Not only that, this award is also proof that PGE is committed to actively implementing environmental, social and good governance (ESG) principles in running its business.

"I thank you for all of your contributions, as well as congratulations to the winners of the ESDM Dharma Karya award who have contributed to their thoughts, wisdom, decisions, actions and developments as well as new discoveries that have had a significant impact on progress in the ESDM sector," said Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif.

In this ESDM Dharma Karya, there are three types of award levels. The first is the Main level, which means that it has contributed greatly to the ESDM sector and is national in nature. The two levels are Madya, which means they have contributed greatly to the ESDM sector, and their services are cross-sectoral. And the three Young levels, which are meritorious in the ESDM sector, and their services are sectoral.

The first award was given by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif to PGE officers, namely Mohamad Husni Mubarok, PhD. This time, Husni received the highest award, namely Dharma Karya ESDM Main level. Husni is the only representative of the Pertamina Group who received the Dharma Karya ESDM award in the Main category.

Husni received the premier level award for his invention of the world's first real-time mass flow rate and enthalpy measurement tool for two phases.

"This award will be a motivation for us to continue to provide new things that can contribute and bring benefits to the progress of the domestic geothermal industry," said Husni.

Besides Husni, PGE also received the Dharma Karya ESDM Young level award, for PC-Prove GIMS. This is a system that improves the effectiveness of the audit management system through the PAS Application System (PGE Audit System) at PGE.

Then, the third award received by PGE was also Dharma Karya ESDM Muda. This time it was given to FT-Prove Jas Lab, for the discovery of technology to improve the quality and quantity of testing of geothermal steam samples using the ACID CONVERSION (ACONV) method at PGE Area Kamojang.

Subroto Award

For its contribution to geothermal development in the country, PGE also received 6 Subroto Awards 2021. This award is a form of government appreciation to companies for their efforts to manage health and safety at work and protect the environment (K3LL) of geothermal well and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

PGE won 3 awards in the category of performance for the application of OHS and geothermal engineering with Aditama ratings for PT PGE Area Kamojang, PT PGE Area Ulubelu and PT PGE Area Lahendong.

As well as 3 awards for the category of controlling pollution and/or geothermal environmental damage with Aditama rank for PT PGE Area Kamojang, PT PGE Area Ulubelu and PT PGE Area Lahendong.

“The Subroto Award is the highest award in the energy and mineral resources sector given to stakeholders who have performed the best in advancing ESDM in Indonesia. For that I congratulate and thank all the winners and contestants who participated, because they have directly tried to advance Indonesia," he explained.

President Director of PGE Ahmad Yuniarto expressed his gratitude for the government's support and appreciation for the company. "This award is an encouragement for all PGE people and further strengthens our role as a geothermal key player in Indonesia in realizing our vision of becoming a World Class Green Energy Company," he said.

Ahmad explained, in running its business, PGE continues to be committed to geothermal development and ensures that the implementation of Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) becomes an integrated part of PGE's geothermal business. government related to the use of new, renewable energy that is environmentally friendly, especially geothermal.

In addition, the development of geothermal energy supply carried out by PGE is also a form of PGE's support and commitment in achieving sustainable development, especially goal_ 7 (clean and affordable energy), 12 (responsible construction and production), 13 (climate change management), and 15 (land ecosystem) in the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).

One thing that makes PGE proud, Ahmad added, is its high commitment to the implementation of HSEE (Health Safety Security Environment). This is proven by PGE in the Lahendong area, Tomohon (North Sulawesi) has received the Zero Accident Award from the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower for 5.8 million hours without accidents for the period January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2020.
