Amid the rich flora of Lumut Balai, orchids stand out as natural treasures whose survival deserves protection. Inspired by this commitment, PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk’s Lumut Balai Area launched the Orchid Cultivation Program in 2025 as a concrete step toward conserving local biodiversity. Three orchid species—Phaius tankervilleae, Cymbidium bicolor, and Bulbophyllum fletcherianum—are being cultivated on a 0.0048-hectare plot, with a total of 120 plants. Beyond cultivation, this initiative forms part of the company’s efforts to preserve the region’s botanical richness as a natural legacy for future generations.
